摘要:Turbulence is a universal form of fluid motion. It is the key issue of fluid mechanics. Very recently, it becomes one of the bottlenecks of the key engineering researches of national importance, such as aeronautics, astronautics and navigation. Developed turbulence and onset of turbulence, i.e., transition are two interrelated parts of turbulence. Hypersonic boundary layer transition is the strategic focus in the fluid mechanic's community. we review recent developments in the study of hypersonic boundary layer transition, the research facilities and experimental techniques. The hypersonic quiet wind tunnel is introduced as the necessary device to obtain the real flight data in the near space. The near wall measurement techniques, such as TSP (Temperature Sensitive Paint), near wall PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) and Rayleigh-scattering visualization are shown. Most important issues in the recent development of the transition in the hypersonic boundary layer are addressed. The instability and the nonlinear interaction of the different instability modes are discussed. The recent contributions in China, especially at PKU, are also introduced.
